Bangla-Indo-Pak cricket for quake victims uncertain |

Dhaka--(UNB) - The three-nation one-day cricket tournament scheduled at Sharjah next week for raising funds for the India’s earthquake victims is yet to be confirmed. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) general secretary Syed Ashraful Haq told newsmen yesterday (Friday) that the governments of India and Pakistan are yet to confirm but there is time to give clearance by Saturday night. Meanwhile, Bangladesh agreed to participate in the tournament as it is for a noble cause. But, Bangladesh skipper Naimur Rahman Durjoy, who is scheduled to take part in the test captains’ meeting in Melbourne on Feb 12, would miss the meet to be held under the auspicious of the Asian Cricket Foundation. Bangladesh team will fly for the desert city on February 6 if the tournament is held on February 8-11. BCB general secretary will fly for Australia today (Saturday) to attend the three-day International Cricket Council meeting beginning on February 8 while BCB President Saber Hossain Chowdhury is expected to leave on Tuesday. |
